As a paralegal at Weems Hazen Law, Jessie supports personal injury, domestic violence, sexual assault, and general litigation cases. Knowing the legal process can be difficult and emotional, Jessie is skilled at making the experience as smooth as possible for our clients with whom she loves to connect personally. Ever the empath, Jessie is motivated to get a positive outcome for our clients. She says her favorite part of the work is hearing how her hard work made a difference for our clients.
Jessie studied political science and history at the University of New Mexico and worked as an intern at a law firm. While in school, she was an associate justice for the UNM student government and president and captain of the UNM Mock Trial. After graduating college, she got her first paralegal job at an insurance defense firm. Soon enough, Jessie realized her heart was on the plaintiff’s side rather than helping big companies save money. She finds fulfillment when she sees justice served.
She still enjoys mock trials and is a volunteer judge for the Center for Civic Values, which organizes high school-level mock trial competitions in the spring. Seeing people succeed and sharing in their happiness is essential to her life. Jessie enjoys live music, hiking, hosting BBQ parties, and annual camping trips.
